Flower Dome & Cloud Forest

In the midst of exam period, I decided to drag my friends, A & J, along to Garden Festival @Gardens by the Bay. Those friends really deserve some break. (too much of studying is not good…. Right?)

It wasn’t a well planned outing because there were a lot of last minute decision making. (because we are supposed to be studying remember?? Hahahha) And, I am glad with the decisions that we agreed upon.

So there we went.. Trudging our way through the mini ‘flooded’-pavement to the GBtheB. It was showering when we arrived at Downtown MRT. It was quite a walk. The whole sheltered pavement (from the main area to Flower Dome) was decorated with side stalls selling variety of products. Mostly gardening equipment and plants. They were like appetisers… Teasing our taste buds before the main course meal arrive.

900 seconds later…*dun dun duunnnn* we’ve reached to Flower Dome. *applause *

I didn’t really expect the dome to be air-conditioned. Because the area inside is really large. So, it was kinda overwhelming for me to register that I was in a air-conditioned area and greeted by myriads of colourful flowers when I got in.

Look at these photos!!

^ Was besieged by these magnificent views of flowers from all around the world (Maybe that’s why the dome is air conditionised. It’s for the flowers which doesn’t grow/found in tropical land. A ha!)

^ Do you see what I see?

^a much closer view of horse running (away from me)

^ And oh! Look what we found! The fruits could be oranges or tangerines. We have no clue. Just capture them anyway. If my hands are long enough… You can see them stretching out for the yummy fruits

^ Kinda surprised that there were a lot of people on weekday.

^ Someone dresses up for the occasion. Hehehhe..

After few hours of basking in the beauty of colourful Nature, we decided to move on to somewhere higher; Cloud Forest.

I wish that I can upload the video of our entrance. Too bad that the mobile version of wordpress doesn’t allow that to happen.

Basically this dome is depicting a Cloud Forest, or aka fog forest. It is a generally tropical or subtropical, evergreen, montane, moist forest characterized by a persistent, frequent or seasonal low-level cloud cover, usually at the canopy level.

^ We were greeted by 7 storey high waterfall upon our entrance.

^ This area was beautify by the crystals found in Cave. Occasionally we heard echoes of bats (I think) from the speaker. It brings calm into the soul.

We didn’t really take a lot of picts of Cloud Forest as compared to Flower Dome. It’s hard to photograph something that could only be felt when you are there. Nevertheless, the serenity of the place is captured in my heart.

A model size of Cloud Forest could bring you such level of emotions/ feelings, just imagine what the real deal has to offer.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty of such creatures and such places. Thankful that I’ve got to see, touch, hear, feel and smell them.

Alhamdulillah for the opportunity!!

If you are a nature lover, I recommend to go to Cloud Forest. It’s worth it.

And to my partners who journey-ed together with me through the Gardens and Jungles… Thanks ah for agreeing to go this festival together. I hope you guys feel more relaxed. Now back to books. ^^
